Questions

Good to know before you start.

Is BORGCoach free?

Yes. The Free plan includes the coach-led onboarding and starter plan, Plan, Workouts, Data, manual logging, and connecting Garmin or Apple Health. Premium adds deeper coaching. See Subscriptions for the full comparison.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new account starts with a free month of full Premium, with nothing to buy and no payment details needed. Eligible customers also get a two-week free trial on the Annual plan (Monthly has none); Apple determines eligibility and shows the terms before you confirm.

What happens when my free month ends?

Premium coaching stops generating new content, and everything already generated stays yours. We remind you a week, three days, and one day before it ends. Subscribe at any time and the days you have left are added to your subscription.

What does Premium add?

Post-run AI coaching, adaptive plan building, and deeper coach overviews. Sending your structured workouts to your Garmin watch or Apple Watch is free. Monthly and Annual plans include the same features.

How do I cancel or restore a subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple Account, where you can change or cancel them at any time. In the app, “Already subscribed? Restore purchases” brings Premium back on a new device when you use the same BORGCoach account.

Do I need a Garmin watch?

No. Your BORGCoach account and manual logging give you a working plan from day one. Garmin sync is available now, and Apple Health can be connected from the iPhone app; both are optional. If you do wear a Garmin or an Apple Watch, your structured workouts can go to it. Fitbit is on the roadmap.

What makes it different from other running apps?

BORGCoach holds several goals of different types at once (a race, a pace, a distance, a weight target) and works out the trade-offs between them in one weekly plan, with goal-specific detail for each. It also explains the reasoning behind every decision.

Is my activity data private?

Yes. Your data is isolated to your account, passwords are hashed with Argon2id, and source credentials are encrypted with Fernet. There are no public leaderboards, social feeds, or advertising profiles.

Do you sell or share my data?

No. We never sell your data, we don’t share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we don’t use it for advertising or to build profiles. We don’t monetize your personal health data, and nobody at BORGCube browses it. BORGCoach is funded solely by the subscriptions our users pay for, so we have no reason to do anything else with your information.

Only what’s needed to run the app leaves our systems. To generate your coaching, workout and fitness numbers (pace, heart rate, sleep, and the like) are sent to our AI providers as plain text, without your name, email address, or account ID. Anything you type to your coach, such as a note about an injury, is part of that request so your coach can respond to it. A few Apple services handle push notifications, subscriptions, sign-in, and local weather, and Garmin is involved only when you connect it. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

How is my data kept safe?
  • Hashed and encrypted. Passwords are hashed (Argon2id), and the credentials for connected sources such as Garmin are encrypted.
  • Account isolation. Every request is limited to your own account, so one person’s data can never appear in another person’s.
  • Quiet notifications. Notifications never contain your health numbers or your coach’s text.
  • Apple Health stays on your terms. It’s read-only, you choose what to share in iPhone Settings, and the raw Health data stays on your device.
  • Location for weather only. It’s used to show local weather and adjust pace guidance, nothing else.
  • No tracking. There are no public profiles, feeds, or leaderboards, and the app contains no advertising or third-party analytics code.
  • Only what coaching needs. We ask for training-relevant context, never a diagnosis or medical history.
  • Disconnect or delete any time. Disconnect Garmin or Apple Health, or delete your account, from inside the app. Deleting permanently removes your coaching data; the only trace we keep is a one-way hash of your email address, so a returning address isn’t given a second free month.
What platforms will it run on?

iPhone and iPad today, as one universal native app with accessibility support built in. The native macOS app is available now in the Mac App Store. Android testing is now available by invitation through Google Play. Request Android test access.

Is this medical advice?

No. BORGCoach provides fitness coaching, not medical advice. It collects only training-relevant context and will pause and point you to a clinician when a safety flag comes up.
